Cambodia on Discovery! Great news just out

Cambodia on Discovery! Great news just out - Discovery Channel are delivering an all-new season of Josh Gates' Expedition Unknown, with their host embarking on all manner of thrilling adventures, aiming to uncover a variety of mysteries with his signature brand of wit, wisdom, and charm. The new season of Expedition Unknown premieres on Discovery Channel on 24 May. Their blurb to the press reads: Seasoned adventurer Josh Gates is bringing viewers across the globe as he continues to investigate and solve the world's most intriguing mysteries. In the new season, he travels throughout five continents to dive into sunken tombs in Africa, reclaim stolen and looted statues in Cambodia, and discover a pirate's lost treasure in the frigid waters of the UK -- with one excursion giving him the most terrifying moments of his career. The all-new, eight-episode season of Expedition Unknown begins 24 May. The opener is a two-episode look at the Royal Necropolis of Nuri to investigate a royal tomb, while for his visit to Cambodia Josh works to unearth a long-buried temple at Koh Ker, and joins the fight to bring the looted treasures of the Khmer Empire back where they belong. He teased the following in an Instagram post in December 2022, standing in front of Prasat Kraham at Prasat Thom, Koh Ker: “Ancient moats surround many of Cambodia’s stunning Khmer temples,” he wrote. “Long abandoned, these spiritual reservoirs are filled with snakes, mud, and perhaps historic treasures submerged for a thousand years. Let’s see what’s down there!” In a Facebook post he posed in the doorway of one of the brick towers covered in tree roots at Prasat Pram in the Koh Ker temple complex. When I find out the date of the Cambodia-based episode, I’ll let you know. It was a pleasure to be part of the filming for this episode as the local fixer. A quote from Josh: "I'm head-over-heels in love with Southeast Asia. Every time I touch down in Thailand, Cambodia, or Vietnam, the air washes over me, and I feel like I'm home. From the people to the food to the history, there's just no place like it."
